10 Awesome Tears of the Kingdom Locations (That Are Hard to Find) (2024)

While The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom builds upon Breath of the Wild's iconic map, the game adds two new dimensions: the Sky and the Depths. Hyrule has many new locations, such as the Emergency Shelter and the Gerudo Shelter. Players also get to explore several caves and wells throughout the area.

Many amazing locations in Tears of the Kingdom are relatively easy to spot throughout Link's travels, including places like Lon Lon Ranch, the Forest Coliseum, and Eventide Island. But some hidden gems in Tears of the Kingdom can encourage players to explore Hyrule's map more meticulously to find them.

In Zelda games, Gerudo Town lies deep within the Gerudo Desert. While it's hard to reach, players can find their way there both in BOTW and TOTK.

Lake Saria is a small lake hidden in the Lost Woods that most players have probably unintentionally evaded. The fog in the Lost Woods makes it hard to explore the area since it constantly relocates them. However, players have reached this lake simply by following the Silent Mushrooms from Ninjis Shrine.

It's important to know that the Lake Saria can only be reached from the Ninjis Shrine. Players can only get to this shrine after saving the Koroks from the Gloom, and only from the sky. In Lake Saria, players will find a treasure in a tree with a pretty useful Forest Dweller's Bow. It might not be one of the most interesting locations in Tears of the Kingdom, but it's certainly hard to find, and completionists will surely want the pin on their map.

When players arrive at the Gerudo Shelter, they might notice a Hylian man standing behind bars. His name is Wabbin, and he was imprisoned for daring to set foot in the place, being a voe and all. What's funny is that players have two options to get into Gerudo Jail, a secret one and a conventional one.

The conventional way would be to get caught doing something improper. If Link takes off his clothes, he'll likely be jailed. If players don't want a criminal record, they can access the Jail through a hidden entrance in the Gerudo Bar. They can move a vase in the bar to discover a secret room. Inside, they have to use Ascend to get into the jail. Both the prisoner's and the guard's reactions will be hilarious.

8 The Floating Coliseum Holds A Pleasant Surprise

There are seven Coliseums in Tears of the Kingdom where players fight challenging beasts and obtain unique treasures. Out of the seven Coliseums, six of them are in The Depths, so most of them are slightly hard to find. Players might encounter a couple while traveling the Depths, but as players already know, this map is tricky to traverse.

The Floating Coliseum holds one of the most interesting surprises of Tears of the Kingdom: the Majora's Mask. This article of clothing makes Link less perceivable by monsters, but it's also a cute reference to the game of the same name. Longtime The Legend of Zelda fans will want to visit this location.

10 Classic Zelda Items Tears Of The Kingdom Should Have Let Players Fuse

Tears of the Kingdom switched up the Zelda formula, and without items like Hook Shot or Pegasus Boots, the player should have been able to Fuse them.

For players who have already reached Tears of the Kingdom's Korok Forest and finished this quest, there is a charming location they might have missed. All it takes is to use the Ascend ability inside the Great Deku Tree, where the Koroks live. This will lead Link to a Secret Room owned by a little Korok named Oaki.

Oaki is obsessed with his secret space and wants the best décor. For this, he asks Link for Blue Nightshades and Giant Brightbloom Seeds. The little place becomes especially cozy at night thanks to its fluorescent decoration. Oaki also rewards Link with a Korok Fabric for his paraglider, making it a great time and place to visit.

6 Rutile Lake Produces Many Useful Items

Coordinates: -2557, -0639, 0199

Players may write off one extraordinary place as mundane on such a huge map as the one in Tears of the Kingdom. Rutile Lake isn't as difficult to find as other locations, but players might have to walk long distances before reaching it. Rutile Lake is a small lake close to Satori Mountain, but this fertile area is perfect for farming.

In Rutile Lake, players can find Endura Carrots, Silent Princesses, Hot-Footed Frogs, Mighty Carps, Bee Hives, and many other useful resources. All of these items are very helpful for the creation of recipes and potions as well as great to sell and make a couple of extra rupees.

The Emergency Shelter is home to a secret passage in Tears of the Kingdom. When Link speaks to a Hylian named Jerrin, she says she was sweeping when she accidentally tore a piece of the wall. Since then, she's been hearing a strange voice from the wall. If Link goes through this passageway, he will find the cursed statue behind some rocks.

But there is more to it than that. Players will also have access to an immense cave with plenty of treasure, and eventually after breaking several rocks, a hidden entrance to Hyrule Castle's Observation Room. Not only does the room contain several treasures but this is an excellent way to get into the castle without much trouble.

The Depths is one of the exciting new locations to explore in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, adding a whole new level of depth to Hyrule.

Located in the Depths, Akkala House of Bones is a mostly isolated area that can only be accessed through the Skull Lake Chasm – close to Death Mountain. The place is filled with several Stal monsters, including a Stalnox, Stalkoblins, and Stalmoblins. While the fight is exhilarating, the real thrill in Akkala House of Bones is the treasure it keeps.

If players defeat all the Stal monsters, they will gain access to a treasure kept inside – the Biggoron's Sword. This one-of-a-kind item has appeared in several Zelda games, debuting as Ocarina of Time. Akkala House of Bones is the only place in the game where players can find this relic unless they acquire amiibos.

3 The Gerudo Secret Club Is An Exclusive Place For Buying Clothes

Coordinates: -3791, -2919, 0032

10 Awesome Tears of the Kingdom Locations (That Are Hard to Find) (9)

Much like in Breath of the Wild, there's a Gerudo Secret Club in Tears of the Kingdom. This location might not be as difficult to discover, but finding an entrance is tricky. Players must get into a waterfall next to the Sand Seal Rental. Instead of freely falling, there's a small opening on one side of the waterfall. Going through that tunnel, players will find a couple of stone pillars. Now they only have to use Ascend in the middle of the pillars, and they will find themselves in the Gerudo Secret Club.

This place is an excellent way of getting the Gerudo fashion for voe but it might take some exploring and imagination to find an entrance. After getting inside, players need to break the crate behind the door, so from then on they can enter through the front door.

Caves are one of the most significant features in Tears of the Kingdom. They are everywhere, and many of them are pretty easy to spot. But others are much more tucked away, such as Mount Floria Cave. Players can find the entrance through a small waterfall located in Mount Floria or through the waterfall in Riola Spring.

The place holds a few treasures, such as a Large Zonai Charge and a Star Fragment. However, Mount Floria Cave is coveted because of the Bubbul Gem inside – a valuable Tears of the Kingdom trading item. Players who want all the Bubbul Gems might have difficulties finding this location. Mount Floria Cave has since become one of Tears of the Kingdom's most iconic areas.

1 Link's Old House From Breath of the Wild Is Home To Zelda's Mysterious Studies

Coordinates: 0416, 2176, 0179

Breath of the Wild players might remember the house they built in Hateno Village. The good news is that there's still a house there. However, it's now owned by Zelda. Many take this to mean Zelda and Link now live together, but if they do, there isn't a sign of Link in the house. The whole place is endearing, with Zelda's pictures and personal belongings. However, there is an even more interesting room.

If players look around the house, they will find a well. Inside is a secret room owned by Zelda. Players can read her diary, where she writes the location of an armory she provided for Link. There is also a treasure with a well-worn hairband (presumably Zelda's) that Link can now wear. Funny enough, players will also find a collection of drawings made by Zelda – not very good ones, though.
