We have been avid Toyota fans but decided to give Ford a second look (Our first Ford 1995 Windstar experience wasn't too good!). Explorer Van use Ford Transit vehicles and their customization is what drew us in. We interviewed their general manager and asked why they chose Ford and his answers made us consider buying one. We could have just stayed with the Ford Transit as sold in dealerships, but we had an old Dodge custom van, so we wanted our new van to be custom as well.

I am disappointed with the location and readability of the gas and coolant temperature gauges.They are hard to easily read and are low in the instrument panel. They should be large and prominent on the instrument panel and a voltage meter would be nice. I have a cargo van with no rear or side windows, and I wanted it that way, but Ford should include as standard a blind spot warning system and yellow turn signal warning lights on the side mirrors. A standard radio came with the van and reaching the radio buttons is a stretch even for a tall person, it would be a safety feature to have station selection and volume control mounted on the steering wheel.
