Rudy Gourd, 52, Russell Gourd, 29, and Eli Gourd, 20, Locust Grove Rudy Gourd and his two sons died in the crash on State Highway 82. The Oklahoma Highway Patrol said the driver of the other vehicle, 30-year-old Anthony Whitney of Wellsville, had his ability to drive impaired by alcohol. Jon Westleigh Mem-bere, 24, told Oklahoma City police he shot Damon Adams, 21, when they struggled for a gun Oct. 20, court papers state. Membere and Bruce Lee Roberts II, 23, had arranged to buy 2 pounds of marijuana from Adams and two other men in the 7600 block of NW 6, Sgt. David Jacobson wrote in an affidavit. There was a confrontation after Membere and Roberts said they were shorted, leading to Adams being shot.
Membere, who was convicted of possession of drugs with intent to distribute last month, was not supposed to be in possession of any firearms as a convicted felon. He is charged with second-degree murder, conspiracy to distribute drugs and possession of a weapon. Roberts is charged with conspiracy. 1, 2008 at 18000 Lillie highway patrol. Authorities said Whitney's pickup went off the road before he overcor-rected and struck the Gourds' pickup head-on. Jimmy Arnold Meeks, 45, Tipton Meeks died Tuesday at the scene of a one -car wreck just south of Tipton in Tillman County, the patrol reported. About 6:50 p.m., Meeks was southbound on State Highway 5 when his pickup ran off the road to the right, crossed back over and rolled twice, troopers said. He was taken to a Frederick hospital, where he was pronounced dead, the patrol said.
Meeks was not wearing a seat belt, the patrol said. BRADLEY Carter W. Bradley, 89, an energetic Oklahoman with three notable careers in journalism, government and higher education died Monday at his home in Oklahoma City. A 1940 graduate of the University of Oklahoma School of Journalism, Bradley worked for a time at the Ponca City News and the Oklahoma City Times. In 1943, he joined United Press and served as state manager for the agency from 1947 to 1960.
During those years, he covered events ranging from the deadly Woodward tornado in 1947 to the Selected Investments scandal of the late 1950's. Bradley had a hand in reporting every big political story of an era spanning the administrations of four governors, Robert S. Kerr, Roy Turner, Raymond Gary and Howard Edmondson. He earned a reputation as an accurate and enterprising reporter. He was a longtime member of the Oklahoma City Gridiron Club, and is remembered for two starring roles, Raymond Gary and David Hall.
Covering the Woodward disaster, Bradley found a telephone company crew working on one of the few live lines out of the devastated area, and persuaded a repairman to let him use a handset plugged in near the top of a pole. The call got his story on the wire way ahead of the competition. "I scrambled up, and I had to stand on the poles rung as I dictated my story," he recalled in a an interview years later. In 1960, Sen. Robert S.
Kerr appointed Bradley as chief clerk (or chief of staff) of the Senate Committee on Aeronautical and Space Sciences. His first big mission was to help Kerr steer through Congress legislation authorizing Project Apollo, President Kennedy's goal of landing American astronauts on the moon. After Kerr's death on New Year's Day, 1963, Bradley served as administrative assistant to Mike Monroney, then began his third career as a crusader for education. He was named executive director of the Oklahoma Higher Education Alumni Council, a consortium of Oklahoma colleges and universities organized to promote public and government support for state campuses. For his success in advancing these goals, he was named to the Oklahoma Higher Education Hall of Fame.
He was named earlier to the Oklahoma Journalism Hall of Fame. Bradley met Loretta Groothouse of Purcell at OU, and both went to work at the Ponca City newspaper. They were married May 29, 1942. Bradley was born Feb. 24, 1919, at Ada, one of seven children of Robert and Lottie Bradley.
Survivors include the wife, of the home; a daughter, Teresa B. Adwan, and her husband, Alex of Tulsa; a daughter-in-law, Dean-na Bradley of Oklahoma City; two brothers, Glen Bradley of Norman and Joe Bradley of Denver; a sister, Margaret Smith of Norman; and a sister-in-law, Teresa Groothouse, who gave him special care during his last long illness. She was born Dec. 17, 1929, in Los Angeles, CA, the daughter of the late Al Boyfriend faces charges An Oklahoma City man has been charged with killing his girlfriend, even though he told police she was shot after he walked away from her Oct. 17 near Martin Luther King and Reno avenues. Mark Anthony Sanders said he was walking toward a nearby gas station after an argument with his girlfriend, Ebony Howeth, when he heard gunshots, according to court papers. Oklahoma City police found Howeth, 33, slumped over at the wheel of her vehicle at 20 Martin Luther King Ave.

YANDA SON FUNERAL HOME Records Officers kill male suspect in shooting FROM STAFF REPORTS TULSA A man was shot to death Tuesday after police said he refused to drop a handgun. Michael Julian Bucknor, 25, died at the scene after he was shot by two officers attempting to arrest the man outside the Cobblestone Apartments on 51st Tulsa police reported.
The incident happened about 2 a.m. while the officers were looking for Bucknor, who was suspected of shooting a man Sunday and dumping him out of a vehicle in the Westminster Apartment parking lot on 78th Place, the report said. Police said Bucknor pulled a handgun as officers contacted him. The officers, who said they feared for their safety, shot Bucknor. The officers are on administrative leave.
