Why am I on the Hertz Do Not Rent list? ›

Car rental companies use Do Not Rent lists to protect themselves from liability and financial losses caused by irresponsible or fraudulent customers. Common reasons for being blacklisted include unpaid bills, damage to the vehicle, violation of the rental agreement, or criminal activity.

It is generally cheaper to rent a car from an airport rather than a city center location. For example, cars rented at the airport are almost always more expensive because of added taxes and fees. Typically, when you rent at an off-airport location, you could save 20 percent or more.

You may be charged an extra day's rental for the vehicle and any optional equipment for each 24 hour period entered into following the return time at then current rental rates, although you are allowed a 'grace period' of 29 minutes to return the vehicle after the agreed return time.

If you make a reservation specifying a pick-up location and you do not arrive at the specified pick-up location for the rental within an hour of the specified pick-up time, (or if the location closes before then, by the location's closing time), the reservation will expire.

Log into the app and book your van by selecting your desired location and pickup time. You'll need a credit/debit card. Close to the start of your rental you vehicle will be assigned. After the initial vehicle inspection, you'll receive the digital key in the app to unlock the vehicle.

Customers who are on rent who extend their rental past a 12-hour grace period or change the location of their return will be charged a nominal $10 fee.
